Retreat Liturgy Coordinator Ministry

Role               

To MC the Retreat, arrange for Microphones and Recordings and coordinate all the Liturgical necessities

Two Months prior to the Retreat                                                                             

  • Put out sign-up sheets at the O.C.D.S. June Meeting
    • For Retreat EM and Lectors
    • For Retreat Liturgy f the Hours, Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer (Presider and 2 Cantors for each)
    • For Leader of Rosary and Divine Mercy Novena

At the Retreat                                                        

  • Put out sign-up sheets
    • For All Night Adoration (if there is All Night Adoration)
    • For Spiritual Bouquet Sheets for Retreat Master and Priest(s)
    • For Confessions that will be posted on the door where the confessions are taking place

With the Music ministry

  • To determine the music appropriate for Ceremonies, Mass, Liturgy of the Hours and adoration (Obtain schedule from Retreat Coordinator)
  • Provide Music information to the Retreat Assistant Coordinator for the inserts and Retreat Schedules going into the Retreat Packets

With the Formation Director                                                      

  • Make arrangements
    • For the Ceremonies, Masses, and Sacristans
    • For relics, icons, statues, etc. for the Retreat from the O.C.D.S. Community

With the Presider                                                     

  • To Plan the daily Liturgy of the Hours (Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer)
    • Provide Liturgy of the Hours information to the Retreat Assistant Coordinator for inserts and Retreat Schedules going into the Retreat Packets.

For Adoration                                                      

  • Obtain a Monstrance, Cope and Humeral Veil, Blessed Candle, Incense and Censer

Other duties                                                  

  • Find a Sacristan for the Retreat and ensure that the Retreat Master has all the supplies prior to Ceremonies, Mass, and Adoration
  • To act as Retreat Master’s right hand assistant throughout the Retreat
  • To help at the Registration Table at the Retreat
  • Opening and clean up after the retreat
  • To check that microphones are working (if we choose to have the microphones)
  • To arrange for the recordings of the Retreat Conferences
  • To MC the Retreat by making announcements when information and guidance are needed.
    • Welcoming every one and introducing Father
    • Silence begins after Friday’s Liturgy of the Hours
    • Silence ends after Sunday Mass followed by Picture taking on lawn
    • If All Night Adoration, then particulars given
    • Be punctual for meals, Masses, and scheduled events
    • Reminder for Spiritual Bouquets sign up
    • ‘Check out on Sunday’ at 9am.
